Rebranding for wholesale furniture company
Skyline Furniture Mfg. is a family-owned and operated wholesale furniture company on the outskirts of Chicago. With a taste for fun prints and trendy silhouettes, their modern, upholstered furniture is sold through both in-store and online retailers including Urban Outfitters, Land of Nod, Macy’s, Gilt Groupe and many more. When Meganne Wecker, the Founder‘s granddaughter, took over as the 3rd generation owner, she called on us to rebrand the company and their imports division.
Designing their brand to appeal to both wholesalers and the end customer, we focused on highlighting the Skyline story, conveying their custom-made approach and showing that their furniture is handmade right here in the USA. Keeping their logo in tact, we designed a new visual identity that allowed their prints and patterns to pop. We designed their business cards to show 10 different patterns on one side with the information on the other, reinforcing the idea that they have hundreds of fabrics to choose from.
We moved their hefty printed catalog from a 3-ring binder to a digital PDF on a slim USB that tucks inside a custom package, making it easy to mail and hand out at tradeshows. Using the same thinking as their business cards, we printed 4 different patterns on the USBs and paired them with matching envelopes to give them a few different looks. Moving their catalog to a digital platform ended up being more affordable, easier to update, better organized, created less waste and instantaneously delivered their catalog to any interested retailer.
